You know, you see these things about bi erasure, and I’m not trying to minimize the importance of that in any way, but at least there are more spaces where it gets acknowledged, right?
Because I’ve never seen any of the people who talk about that even mention, like, pan erasure or even note that being pan exists as a thing.
And you’ve got like bi pride and stuff. More people seem to recognize/talk about/be aware of the existence of being bi. It feels harder to find that kind of thing for being pan. Is it a more marginalized community? I’m not really sure. Did you know that there’s a pan pride flag? I didn’t. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong places. I dunno.
I have pan friends who will censure themselves and just say they’re bi because it’s easier than having to explain that, no, I’m not into cooking utensils, pan means all, no, I’m not attracted to everyone always everywhere, I just like people more than genders, blah de blah. It’s like we get so sick of the confused expressions, it’s just easier to use a different label, even if it’s inaccurate. Blurhg. Anyway. That’s all. Okay. #endrant
